Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a real political party?+

Not yet — but it will be. The People App is building the democratic infrastructure for a real party that will contest the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. Every candidate selected on this platform will be an actual contestant.

How is this different from other parties?+

The People's Party has no single leader at the top. The platform itself is the party machinery. Candidates are selected by the people, not party bosses. The manifesto is crowd-sourced. Every decision is transparent.

Who owns the People App?+

The platform is publicly owned by all its members. The first member, Roshan Jose, built it — but holds no special authority over outcomes. The people vote, and the people decide.

Are votes secure and tamper-proof?+

Votes are stored in Supabase with row-level security. One person can vote once per constituency. All vote counts are publicly auditable. We plan to implement blockchain verification before 2029.

How can I become a candidate?+

Any verified member can nominate themselves for a constituency or cabinet position. Complete your profile, verify your identity, and apply through the constituency page.

What happens with donations?+

All donations are logged in a public ledger. Funds go toward platform maintenance, legal registration, and outreach. Every rupee is accounted for publicly.

Will this actually fight elections?+

Yes. The goal is to register the People's Party of India as an official political party before the 2029 election cycle and contest all 543 Lok Sabha seats.
